| Coosan Foróige Club, founded in 2002, as a social amenity for 12 to 18 year olds, raised over €3,000 for Soweto Connection in 2004. This was done mainly through a “Stay Awake” and Church Gate Collection. The club was deservedly selected for a National Citizenship Award for their great work.
The generosity of Coosan Foróige Club, and the many people throughout Athlone who have supported them, is greatly appreciated by Soweto Connection and (more importantly) by those who benefit from the money raised. The funds have been divided between three South African groups involved in HIV/AIDS support work. These are:
-
the RAPHAEL CENTRE, Grahamstown
-
the UMTHATHI TRAINING PROJECT, Grahamstown
-
the INKANYEZI HIV/AIDS PROJECT, Orange Farm.
Full details of how the funds are being used by those groups is available on the Beneficiaries page. |
