The class of Donoughmore National School in County Limerick decided to take the words of Bishop Donal Murray to heart, and give some of the gift money they received for their Confirmation Day to a worthy cause. They selected Soweto Connection as their charity of choice.
Twenty children from sixth class gave €10 each. They specified that they would like it to go towards a creche or orphanage for children affected by Aids. In line with this, Soweto Connection forwarded the donation to Power of Women and Children (PWC) who used the money to buy groceries for the orphans and needy children at their Day Care Centre at Tshepisong-Roodepoort.
